Mississippi Juke Joint features the music known as delta blues, country blues, and dirty blues from the 20s, 30s, and 40s, as well as field hollers and prison songs preserved by the Library of Congress. Blues music is one of America’s greatest cultural contributions to the world. It incorporates the deep stain of history - from the remnants of slavery and rural poverty, through the Great Depression, to the Great Mississippi Flood, and the migration north for a better economic life - with powerful lyrics and exceptional guitar techniques. D Many of these early musicians were the primary influences of the bands of the first and second British invasions– the Animals, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, and Led Zeppelin – not to mention the host of American bands that later caught the fever.
