A: WNYU is New York University’s radio station.
Q: Who runs WNYU?
A: WNYU is completely operated by NYU students.
Q: Who can join WNYU?
A: Any NYU student.
Q: Do I have to be a student majoring in Radio or Communications?
A: No
Q: Do I need prior radio experience?
A: No. Although prior radio experience is helpful, it is not necessary. WNYU staff will train you.
Q: I’m not an NYU student but I have prior radio experience. Can I join as a volunteer?
A: No, you must be an NYU student. All on-air staff are volunteers.
Q: How much will I get paid to be a DJ or to be a newscaster?
A: Nothing. WNYU is a non-commercial radio station. All on-air staff are volunteers and are not paid for providing on-air programming.
Q: Is anyone at WNYU paid?
A: Yes, WNYU management, comprised entirely of students, are paid a stipend each semester by the university.
Q: Can I intern at WNYU for class credit?
