Czech Please! is a show with the intention to explore the contemporary Czech jazz, alternative, and experimental scenes as well as the history and music that has informed them. Music is one of the most foundational parts of Czech culture– from it’s classical and folk roots manifesting into one of the most textured and overlooked current experimental and jazz scenes. From the influential history of punk rock in communist Czechoslovakia to the everyday occurrence of the most disciplined classical musicians letting loose in the depths of a cozy jazz club, this show will aim to highlight the enigmatic and beautiful culture of the Czech Republic and its unique melange of musical style.
